Analyze and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve query execution times.
Design, implement, and manage solutions like Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard for ensuring high availability and enabling seamless failover in case of disaster.
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data, including user access control, encryption, and auditing.
Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations to new versions or platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Monitor database resource utilization and proactively plan for future capacity needs, including storage, CPU, and memory.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Provide guidance and mentorship to L1 and L2 DBAs, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Work closely with application development teams, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of database systems.
Implement proactive monitoring strategies to identify and address potential issues before they impact users, ensuring database stability and performance.
Evaluate and introduce new database technologies and tools to improve performance, security, and efficiency.
Contribute to the design and architecture of new database systems, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and meet business requirements.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including regular testing to ensure business continuity.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Proficiency in implementing and managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Proficiency in database monitoring and performance tuning tools: Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools for monitoring and optimizing database performance.
Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex database issues.
Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security measures to protect sensitive data.
