Orthopedic Technician


Fairfax VA


Pay From: $32 Per Hour

MUST:


The Orthopedic Technician should have the following:


6+years of recent experience as an Orthopedic Technician


Medical Assistant diploma or certification, or Licensed as an EMT


Pediatric experience


Strong casting and splinting experience


Removing sutures, bone pins and staples


Handling wound care


Obtaining vital signs


Experience entering patient information into EMR


Ensure accurate billing


Comfortable setting patients up for x-rays


Setting up instruments and cleaning and preparing rooms


National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Cert a plus

DUTIES:


The Orthopedic Technician's duties include but will not be limited to the following:


Room patients


Obtain vitals and medical histories and document and update information in EMR


Cast and splint patients


Take out sutures, staples and bone pins


Handle any other clinical duties as required


Set patients up with durable medical equipment including braces


Provide patient education


Set patients up for X-Rays


Assist physician with treating Orthopedic patients


Update and organize medical records


Sanitize instruments


Clean and set up rooms


Enter and update patient information in EMR
