Weekend: 6a- 6p F-Sun (Paid 40hrs)
$18-25hr (BOE)
Job Description: This role focuses on safely operating overhead and gantry cranes to move, position, and stage heavy materials within a manufacturing or industrial environment. You will support production flow by transporting raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to strict safety standards.
Responsibilities: - Operate overhead and/or gantry cranes to lift, move, and position materials and products safely within the facility.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of cranes, rigging, and lifting equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Load and unload flatbeds, trailers, and production areas while preventing damage to materials and equipment.
- Coordinate material movement with production, shipping, and receiving teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Use rigging equipment such as slings, chains, and hooks to secure loads for transport.
- Assist as a groundman or spotter by guiding crane movements using hand signals and maintaining safe lift zones.
- Stage raw materials and finished goods in designated locations to support production and shipping schedules.
- Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed to support operations.
- Inspect loads for stability and ensure proper weight distribution prior to lifting and moving materials.
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company policies related to crane operation and material handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operations.
