Overhead Crane Operator

Overhead Crane Operator Location: Harrisburg, NC Pay: $19/hour + $0.75/hour shift differential Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM Occasional Saturday Work Required

Weekly Pay | Full-Time Position Overview The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for safely lifting, moving, and positioning heavy materials throughout the galvanizing facility. This role supports production by preparing racks, transporting materials, performing quality checks, and assisting other machine operators. The position requires strong industrial experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to heat, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Overhead Cranes to safely lift, move, and stage heavy racked materials.
• Quality Inspection — Perform visual inspections to verify straightness, measurements, and material readiness.
• Properly hang finished products on designated racking systems.
• Transport racked materials from production to staging areas.
• Prepare racks for the galvanizing process, ensuring correct placement and readiness.
• Support the robot operator during production as needed.
• Conduct quality control checks to confirm materials meet galvanizing standards.
• Complete production reports and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Follow all company rules, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines.
• Perform changeovers, troubleshooting, and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of overhead crane operation in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• At least 4 years of experience in construction or heavy industrial environments.
• Ability to safely lift, push, and pull heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions, including heat, fumes, chemicals, and outdoor exposure.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift experience and welding experience are a plus.
