Job Description
Role Summary

The Scrum Master is a servant-leader responsible for facilitating Agile practices, enabling high-performing teams, and ensuring successful delivery of business value. The role focuses on removing impediments, coaching teams, and driving continuous improvement in Agile delivery.


Key Responsibilities
1. Agile Facilitation & Governance

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Retrospective
• Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum practices, values, and frameworks
• Maintain transparency through artifacts, dashboards, and metrics visibility

2. Impediment & Risk Management

• Identify, track, and proactively remove team impediments
• Escalate risks/issues beyond team control and drive timely resolution
• Enable smooth delivery by minimizing blockers and

3. Team Coaching & Development

• Coach team members in Agile principles and self-organization
• Build a high-performing, cross-functional team culture
• Promote continuous improvement and foster a collaborative environment

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owner to ensure backlog readiness and prioritization
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and development team

5. Delivery Management & Execution

• Ensure sprint commitments are realistic based on team capacity and velocity
• Monitor progress using Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time)
• Drive timely product increments aligned to sprint and release goals

6. Agile Transformation & Adoption

• Promote Agile culture across teams and stakeholders
• Identify and eliminate anti-patterns in Agile implementation
• Contribute to enterprise Agile maturity and best practices adoption

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical & Domain

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow
• Knowledge of SDLC, DevOps practices

Behavioral & Leadership

• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Coaching and mentoring mindset

Experience

• 5-10 years in IT delivery with at least 2-3 years as Scrum Master
• Experience working with cross-functional distributed teams
• Agile certifications (CSM/PSM/SAFe) preferred
