In this role, you will support month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance operations, ensuring accurate, audit-ready financial records while managing complex accounting areas related to federal grants, restricted funds, and nonprofit financial reporting.

Plus, we strive to create an optimal environment for our employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning, and culture.

To thrive, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in nonprofit finance, fund accounting, or federal grants accounting; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years managing federal awards and grant compliance, including experience with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), Single Audit preparation, restricted funding, and audit-ready financial documentation.
  • Solid technical expertise in Oracle NetSuite, advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, reconciliations, financial reporting), and general ledger management, with experience supporting Form 990 preparation and nonprofit financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced nonprofit accounting environment; bilingual English/Spanish preferred and ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Your key responsibilities as the Sr. Accountant (Accountant IV) will include:

  • Lead key components of the month-end close and general ledger process, including preparing complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining schedules that support accurate financial statements and consolidated reporting.
  • Support accounting and compliance for federal grants and restricted funding, ensuring adherence to 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), proper cost allocation, grant coding, and audit-ready documentation for Single Audit and grant reporting.
  • Assist with nonprofit financial compliance and external reporting, including preparation of support schedules for Form 990, grant reporting, and financial audits, in coordination with the Controller, CFO, and external auditors.
  • Strengthen internal controls, GAAP-compliant nonprofit accounting practices, and NetSuite financial systems, collaborating cross-functionally with program and operations teams to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and data integrity.
