Description:Upper School Teacher

University Christian School

University Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Upper School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, spiritual development, and building meaningful relationships with students in a Christ-centered learning environment.

Position Summary

The Upper School Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction for students in grades 9–12. This role supports students’ academic growth, character development, and preparation for future success while integrating biblical truth and Christian values into daily instruction.

Requirements:Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective, engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards
• Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
• Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of evaluation methods
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, students, and administration
• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and school initiatives
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
• Model Christ-like character and uphold the mission and values of University Christian School
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (subject-area degree preferred)
• Teaching certification preferred (or willingness to pursue certification)
• Experience teaching middle school or high school students preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to Christian education and ability to integrate faith into teaching
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students throughout the school day
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Classroom, campus, and event-based responsibilities
