Volunteer With South Branch

No experience is necessary - if you have the will to help, we will show you the way. Training is free for volunteers.

South Branch formed in July 2020 with the merger of Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad and High Bridge Emergency Squad - two organizations with long histories of providing essential medical and emergency services to the community. Hampton Emergency Squad joined South Branch on 01/01/2022. Joining us now gives you a unique opportunity to learn from and serve with volunteers who have an extraordinary amount of experience, yet make your mark and help shape traditions with a new organization.

There are many ways to serve, and volunteers are needed in all categories:

• Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provide immediate care to the ill and injured and transport the patient to the hospital. Those without current training will be offered a position in our next semester.
• Rescue Associates rescue people from life-threatening or hazardous circumstances, such as being trapped in a vehicle after an accident.
• Water Rescue Associates use specialized skills to rescue people during water-related emergencies, such as boating accidents or floods.
• Support Associate Members are people over the age of 18 who have the desire to serve in a non-emergency way. Opportunities include community education, fundraising, and events.
• Cadets are members who are 16 and 17 years old, who join and ride as part of a crew to answer calls while learning about Emergency Medical Services. Cadets are eligible to participate in our EMT training program as well.

Requirements:

• Willingness to learn from experienced and trained fellow volunteers and career staff
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Team up with others to help your neighbors and your community
• Commit to a minimum number of volunteer hours and training on a monthly basis at one of our 4 stations
• Have fun and make some new friends
